- Q: What do I have to pay?
A: All students must pay at least $125.00 of the tuition & book fee.
- Q: What do I bring to class?
A: Notebook, pen and a willingness to learn
- Q: Am I guaranteed employment because I participate in training?
A: NO, however having the ability to show an employer you have invested your time to start learning a trade is a big plus on an application. You will be placed in a labor pool of available workers.
- Q: Do I have to join a union to participate in training?
A: NO
- Q: Do employers recognize the training certificate?
A: YES
- Q: Will I be recognized as a craftsman in the trade?
A: NO You will be considered a “qualified job candidate.” It takes years to be considered a craftsman.
- Q: Do I need tools?
A: NO
- Q: Can I participate in more than one training class?
A: YES Conditions, 1. If there is space and 2. You have to pay ½ the fee to participate in a 2nd class.
- Q: Do I have to be 18 years of age?
A: NO
- Q: Do I have to take a drug test before entering training?
A: NO BUT all students are subject to testing and all employers test prior to employment.
- Q: How many classes can I miss and stay in school?
A: 2 unexcused absences are allowed each 18 weeks. If you miss more than 2 classes and want to remain in training you pay $25.00 per class in advance for the balance of the training.
